I created this painting after have spent 5 months living and working in The Rockies in Canada. I was in Jasper, Alberta teaching skiing to all ages and abilities. Whilst there, I saw many stunning sunrises over the glories mountain range.
​
There were a few very special ones where the sky was an ombre of pastel colours, green to pink.
​
Taking the vibrant mornings against the silhouetted forest and peaks, I built layers into this painting using thin washes and different sized brushes. I treated the canvas like a palette and mixed any tones to form the sky.
​
A joy to paint and portray an uplifting moment in time.
