Being commissioned a view form the Liverpool Albert Docks was wonderful. This area is buzzing with life and history.

It was challenging but refreshing to paint city structures and need to examine architecture as the majority of commission I do are of the countryside. 

​

My line work and tone technique was critical in this painting. I was successful in creating the 3D elements of the buildings and producing a composition where the viewer looks into the painting to explore it. 

​

It is an exciting piece that portrays the old and new of the city and has the peace and stillness of the water whilst the people bustle around.
