Floating on mud is inspired by a scene in Devon. The photo that was taken was never intended as imagery for a painting, but when I looked back through my gallery, the unusual lighting and colours caught my attention.
​
Many hours went into this piece and my ambition was to have it feel full of movement. I feel I have succeeded in that.
​
This is also a real showcase of technical precise painting. Whilst I never consider making a piece look like a photograph, this one is constantly questioned to be a photograph.
​
This painting transports the viewer into the scene and relaxes the mood with its peaceful comfort and stillness.
